Job Title: Lead Maintenance Technician
Classification:  Non-Exempt
Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: $30-$35 per hour, DOE 
Reports to: Director of Warehousing & Production
Date: 4/6/2026
 
Summary/Objective:
The role of the Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the production goals and corporate values of Corsicana Mattress Company.  Must have expertise in working on mattress manufacturing equipment.  Must adhere to established safety and efficiency standards.

Essential Functions:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Schedules, completes, and documents Preventative Maintenance on select equipment and machinery on a regular basis
  • Perform simple machinist duties to diagnose problematic situations
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses minor repairs, replace or repair parts and tests and adjusts as needed
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment 
  • Installs new equipment
  • Completes enhancement projects or change outs for production safety, capability or capacity
  • Detects faulty operation and/or defective materials and reports to proper management
  • Coordinates special projects as directed by Plant Manager
  • Meet standards for completion of all assignments
  • Address any problems to ensure quality control per instructions and guidelines; reports defective materials and equipment 
  • Utilize personal protective equipment and continuously adheres to safety guidelines 
  • Participate in cross training opportunities to maximize operation effectiveness
  • Must travel to other plants to maintain and install equipment, assist with new plant start-ups and closures as needed.  Will report back to the Operations Sr Director when traveling to other plants.
  • Must be available for emergency situations as needed.
  • Must be able to train plant employees on proper use of equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Ability to monitor and supervise preventative maintenance tasks being done by other trained personnel. 
Work Environment:
  • Generally, exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), dust, odors, fumes.  Noise level is moderate to loud.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently required to lift 10 - 50lbs, stand and walk for long periods of time, reach with arms and hands, climb, bend, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. 
  • Occasionally required sit.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Full Time 40/hr. 
  • Overtime as necessary and may be required to support the operation.
Travel:
  • 20% travel may be required
Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Specialized Training/Certification preferred
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • 5+ years’ experience in similar role
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand diagrams and blueprints
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required
